How To Controlling Cholesterol?


Cholesterol is known to trigger various health problems, such as hypertension, heart disease, to stroke. Actually, cholesterol is an element needed by the body. However, if excessive levels in the body will cause various diseases.

The following steps are known to control blood cholesterol levels.

1. Knowing cholesterol
Generally, doctors recommend that total cholesterol level a person is under 200 mg / dL, with levels of LDL (bad cholesterol) under number 130, and HDL (good cholesterol) is above the number 40.

2. Weight balancing
Reducing excess weight is one way to control blood cholesterol levels. Research also shows that excess weight can interfere with the process of destroying the body’s metabolism of fat. Although we only eat a little fat, but not visible decrease in the mean cholesterol levels. Reduce approximately 2.5-4.5 kg of body weight can improve the expected cholesterol levels.

3. Regular physical activity
One way to control cholesterol levels is by exercising regularly. Types of walking or other mild exercise routine will help to increase HDL levels. Just make sure that you exercise 30 minutes every day and five days a week.

4. Acquainted with good fats
If you have been diagnosed with having high cholesterol levels, is usually recommended that we reduce consumption of fat. Should we eat foods that contain monounsaturated fats, such as peanut butter, avocados, olive and canola oil and nuts. Research shows that these fats help lower LDL cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, and increase HDL.

5. Consuming a multivitamin
Although already eating healthy foods, there is still a possibility of our bodies lack certain nutritional elements. To overcome these conditions, we are advised to take multivitamins or food supplements to meet the basic needs of nutrition and reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. Should choose a multivitamin that contains folic acid, vitamin B6 and vitamin B12, because they have important benefits in maintaining heart health.
